Phil Wickham mp3 album for free!

Yesterday I mentioned a couple of artists that I had been listening to lately. Well, today I ran across something which said that Phil Wickham had a worship album you could download for free from his website. So I thought, I’d check it out…

Yep it was totally true – a entire album for free! All I have to do is sign up for his newsletter. An extremely small price in my mind – especially since I enjoy Wickham so much! I think this is actually an album of just him on a guitar doing worship music. I just downloaded it, and wanted to share my “find” before I forgot to. I’ll post later on what I think of it. Here’s the link:

Couple of Musicians to check out

I’ve recently come across a couple of really awesome artists and just wanted to share ‘em eith everyone.

First up, Phil Wickham. I just loved his first album (self-titled), and only recently got my hands on his second one, Cannons. Both very awesome and God-focused. It’s not quite worship music, though we have used a few of his songs as openers or offertories at North Wake. I’ve noticed, in reading a few of the reviews of his stuff, that he has been compared to U2 or his voice to Bono’s. I’m not all up on U2, but from the little I know, the comparison seems pretty solid.

The other artist I highly recommend checking out is Jeff Johnson and at least his latest album, Glorious Day. When I got it I was surprised to realize that we had done at least four of the songs off it at North Wake. He’s got some awesome stuff on that CD – which makes me think his other ones are worth checking out. This album definitely has a very worshipful flavor – but one that is more rocky than meditative.
