True story

(warning, this post contains [edited] language unsuited for minors)

okay, now that I have your attention, here’s a story I meant to share last week when it happened to me. just kinda got sidetracked with the holidays and family.

On Christmas Eve, our “masters” at work decided we would come in early and get everything done at a decent hour so everyone could get out earlier than normal. We all came in early and worked our rears off so it would happen. By mid-afternoon, though, a few fellow “teammates” had begun to develop doubts about the reality of getting off early, including a friend of mine.

In his rather animated and colorful conversation he, at one point, exclaimed, “F@@@ it! I gotta go to church!”

Those are his exact words. That was why he wanted to get off early, so he could attend a Christmas eve service at a church with his family. And that’s how he said it.

Does anyone else see anything wrong with this phrase?

Obama is lookin for a church?

Hey, I know a few people from North Wake who are going to be planting a church in D.C. next year – wonder if the Obama’s would consider attending there… (no, that wasn’t sarcasm….not completely…)

Yet as I sit here browsing the web, I’ve got Entertainment Tonight on in the background because there’s nothing better on. And when they reported about this “message”, they presented the message by saying something along the lines of “Churches normally encourage people to live according to the Bible, but this pastor…” Basically they present the idea of people having sex at odds with what a church would preach. What?! Where’d they get that idea?
