Well, call me crazy, but I let the boys help me make pizza tonight. Of course, things would have gone much smoother had there not been so many….”issues”, let’s call them. First off, Terra made this awesome dough – for Calzones. But we switched up things and it had barely defrosted by the time we started, so I think I spent 20 minutes trying to spread it on our big pan. But it worked, eventually…
Then I realized the pizza sauce I had grabbed was way, way expired…and it was all we had. After a few moments of frantic searching in the cupboard, I ended up doing a search online for pizza sauce recipes and after this page figured I could probably swing making up my own recipe (as all the others were pretty involved). It didn’t turn out half bad….
But the real fun was letting the boys put the cheese and pepperonis on the pizzas. Yeh, they enjoyed that. Unfortunately, the pizzas still had to cook almost 20 minutes when we finished making them – and it was already 6:30. And the boys normally eat around 5:30 at the latest. Way to go dad!
But with the help of the Lion King and a bit of playtime with Daddy we made it through and the boys pretty much scarfed down the pizza, though I’m not sure if it was due more to my “creative” sauce or their starvation. Actually, I really think it was the awesome dough Terra made.

yeh, I’m a little late in the game to begin looking for scholarships for next year. AT least I’ll be prepared in the fall and next spring so I can apply then if I find any good ones…
So far I’ve only come up with one, which is more like a scholarship lottery than a real scholarship it’s called Seminary Scholarship and is pretty straight-forward, you just watch a short video on Logos Bible software (which makes you want to buy it, of course) and then fill out an extremely simple application. They award roughly 3 times a year $1000 and a full Logos suite of stuff to a randomly chosen applicant.
Sounds neat, but the likelihood of me ‘winning’ this one rates somewhere between slim to none…so I guess I’ll keep looking….
If anyone knows of any good scholarships for part-time graduate/divinity/seminary students, please let me know!
yep, got a new haircut. Was going to be all snazzy and post up before and after pictures but somehow the “before” pictures mysteriously disappeared into the digital netherlands….and we’re stuck with a grainy picture from my (rockin’!) laptop’s webcam:
Was I crazy? Not really. But it had gotten really long, and Terra and I both felt it was time for a change. So I went to a local stylist and pretty much told her I wanted to take a bunch off and to have at it. And she did (I think she had a lot of fun cutting off all that hair).
And yes, I am still doing double-takes in mirrors as I walk by. Is that really me? And boy let me tell you, when I took a shower this afternoon after mowing the yard it was really, really weird to wash the short hair.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve had hair this short…early highschool? maybe…maybe earlier than that. I mean, this cut doesn’t even touch the eyebrows.
Is it a new me? Not really. Does it look good? I really don’t know – but as long as Terra is happy with it (and she seems to be much happier than the last four or five cuts I’ve gotten…) then I’m golden.
And I am sooo gonna get a sunburn on the back of my neck…
