You know the enterprise commercial where the soccer mom is taking her kids to the game and their car breaks down and she saves the day by calling Enterprise, which brings the rental to the shop where her car was being fixed? Yeah, that’s totally false advertising, as far as I’m concerned. I’m trying to coordinate dropping our van off (because some local hoodlums decided to crack the windsheild and kick in the fenders – lovely kids….) with getting the rental (which my insurance is providing via Enterprise). Well, in talking with Enterprise, two things become quickly apparent. One, they’re not open on Sunday (when I have to drop the van off), and two, when they pick you up, it’s only to take you to their place ‘o business for you to fill out the paperwork, sign over your soul, pay the big bucks, and finally get the keys to your temporary ride.
But, being ever so helpful, the Enterprise agent said there was another location decently nearby which was open for a few hours on Sunday – but they couldn’t “pick me up”, because the shop I’m dropping the van off at is in the area covered by the first Enterprise location. I am so loving this…
And then, after figuring out the frustrating nonsense of that situation, I picked up dinner at good ‘ole Mickey D’s. Now, note that the McDonald’s I’m picking up from is one Terra and I visit decently often, and they’ve never gotten our order wrong. Well, I caught the girl only giving me one order of fries, but after that, I figured I woul be safe without checking through the rest. Well, obviously, they messed it up (or I wouldn’t be writing this). Yep. They totally left out both my burgers. So my wifeand son had their food, and I had my…fries. So I warmed up some hot dogs. My stomache was so confused – Mickey D’s fries…and hot dogs?
It just wasn’t right…
