I got drooled!

drooling on dad

Yep, was chillin’ with my littlest man and he started to drool…so I held him up a little and got this awesome long line of drool.

Oh, and I had him drooling on my work clothes. I don’t really care what gets on ‘em…

I want my Knightrider!!!

okay, it may be a small thing, but I’ve been enjoying the rebooted Knightrider show on NBC. It’s fun and plays to my sense of humor (which is cheese-flavored, at least according to my wife).

But tonight, Obama had to spend a bajillion buckaroos so everyone around the nation would have to listen to him for a half an hour. Of course, I just went to USA and suffered through “House”. But I’m still missing Knightrider. I don’t ask for much, but a presidential candidate who can ursurp an entire freaking evening lineup has too much power, even for a nominee. This is ridiculous!

Me? A protestor?

Today at work a “teammate” (as they like to call us at good ‘ole CarQuest) of mine who feels similarly about Obama, albeit with less reservation in expressing it publicly, asks me if I’d like to go protesting. I asked what we would be protesting and he informed me that Obama would be in Raleigh today. It was then I realized he was serious, and that I was actually hesitant to protest.

I found this reaction of mine slightly curious. I’ve always been willing to express my opinion, so why was I averse to protesting? My first thought was that I didn’t want to be associated with the other protestors who would be there. Why? Well, because it’s almost certain that they believe different than me and would therefore express their disapproval of Obama differently, and probably in ways that I would not feel comfortable with.

So do I not believe in the great American tradition of protesting? That’s not what I’m saying. But rather, I don’t think I’m the type to protest. I firmly believe in one’s right to protest (in a lawful manner), I’m just not so sure that I’m one to do so. Interesting…

Does this mean I don’t truly believe what I say? No. I wouldn’t protest an Osteen rally or service either, and I think he is doing far more damage to the people of America spiritually at this time than Obama has the potential to. Worst case scenario Obama screws up our government and we end up more socialist than democratic/republic. But if everyone continues to buy Osteen’s “gospel” (which seems to have no need for Christ) then their eternal state is at risk.

I think I just prefer to write out my opinions in a forum like this. That way, if someone disagrees they can write back what they think, and an exchange of ideas can take place. This is just more my style and preference.
