There’s been a decent amount of noise made about Obama’s vote against a bill which would have forced aborted babies which were born alive to recieve life-saving care. Obama claims that he voted against this bill, not because of the moral issue involved, but because certain parts of the bill were unconstitutional. Not sure what is unconstitutional about requiring medical treatment to a live baby, but that’s another matter entirely. I think he was trying to emphasize lesser known portions of the bill which caused his vote.
Interestingly enough, I was talking to a friend today who is part of a family focused political watchdog group (of sorts), his main job being research into different issues of concern. He pointed out to me that Obama was actually on the committe that revised (or whatever they do when they edit and add and subract to a bill to put it into it’s final form) the bill. The reality was, he emphasized, that Obama had a hand in orchestrating the supposed “unconstitutionality” of the bill which he claims is the purpose he voted against it.
To me, this is just another example of the amount of unknown manipulation going on behind the scenes. More, it’s less unknown than, it seems, completely ignored and misdirected by the media.
