Finally got a haircut

Well, my wife beat me to post it, but my son and I finally got haircuts. Those of you who know me also know I have a tendency to wait awhile between haircuts…a long while. My hair usually grows at least one, if not two inches between cuts. I know, bad habit. But haircuts are a nuisance in my mind. They take time out of my already busy schedule and, this is even worse in my mind, they’re slightly expensive. So when my son’s hair begun covering his eyes and his sideburns had grown lower than his ears, my wife began to pressure me for us both to get a haircut. You see, the last time I got mine cut was when we took him for his second cut, and we just decided I would get mine cut as well – mainly because we were there and could just get it done.

So here’s what we looked like:
Keaton and I before the cuts
And then after the cuts:
Keaton and I after he cuts
And I promise to try and not wait so long between cuts next time…try…but its such a stinkin annoyance…

Obama’s abortion vote

There’s been a decent amount of noise made about Obama’s vote against a bill which would have forced aborted babies which were born alive to recieve life-saving care. Obama claims that he voted against this bill, not because of the moral issue involved, but because certain parts of the bill were unconstitutional. Not sure what is unconstitutional about requiring medical treatment to a live baby, but that’s another matter entirely. I think he was trying to emphasize lesser known portions of the bill which caused his vote.

Interestingly enough, I was talking to a friend today who is part of a family focused political watchdog group (of sorts), his main job being research into different issues of concern. He pointed out to me that Obama was actually on the committe that revised (or whatever they do when they edit and add and subract to a bill to put it into it’s final form) the bill. The reality was, he emphasized, that Obama had a hand in orchestrating the supposed “unconstitutionality” of the bill which he claims is the purpose he voted against it.

To me, this is just another example of the amount of unknown manipulation going on behind the scenes. More, it’s less unknown than, it seems, completely ignored and misdirected by the media.
